Undiscovered Land
Undiscovered Land it's a high energy song with suspenseful, adventurous and aggressive emotions. Perfect for action or sci-fi movies. This song has one main influence, the main inspiration is Hans Zimmer, an incredible producer, and a master on dramatic - cinematic music. He is a pioneer by using electronic music combined with orchestral pieces. My goal with this Portfolio its to create library music with a dramatic song. Making the song good enough to get picked for a tv commercial or a movie scene.
This two-minute song is divided by three sections: A, B, and C. The meter on section A it's in 4/4, section B and C are on 6/8, I chose an orchestral percussion Kit doing huge impacts, hits, stabs and accents as a rhythmic base, a bass, cello, and viola section doing legato and staccato dynamics. As well as a bassoon, clarinet, oboe, flute, trumpet, french horn, trombone doing legato dynamics and a lead piano.
The song is in Dm, which is really common in music that wants to create tension. My chord progression in my section A: Gm, Dm, Gm, Dm, Am, E aug, Am and A. For section B chords I used: Dm and Gm, and for section C: Dm, Em add11, Dm and Em.
Each track has its own EQ thumbnail modified, it was mixed to peak between -0.6db and -0.4db. After reaching that level, in order to reach a basic mastering an EQ channel, Adaptive limiter, and a Multilimiter were plugged into the output track.
